This is the first meeting between the two leaders after a two-month break. Zelensky last met with Trump in April this year, where they attended the funeral of Pope Francis. The meeting between Trump and Zelensky at the G7 summit in June did not take place due to Trump's early departure connected with the situation in the Middle East. Earlier, Trump said that he would meet with the Ukrainian president to discuss the difficulties he was experiencing. |
