US President Donald Trump has said he is ready to participate in US-Iran talks if necessary and assured that Washington does not seek to harm Tehran.
"Iran wants to talk. I think they want to talk to me, and the time has come to do so," Trump said.
"I know they want to meet. And I will do that if necessary. But special envoy Steve Witkoff is deeply involved in the negotiations with Iran, and he is doing a great job," Trump noted.
"We do not seek to harm them," Trump added, referring to Iran.
