Trump: "Washington will send more weapons to Kyiv"

Washington will send more weapons to Kiev, mainly defensive, the Associated Press reported, US President Donald Trump said at an event with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“We are going to send more weapons. We have to do it. They have to be able to defend themselves. They are taking a lot of hits right now. We are going to send more weapons, mainly defensive,” the US president said.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump promised Volodymyr Zelensky that he would send as much military aid to Kiev as he could.
At the same time, the Pentagon announced the sending of additional weapons to Ukraine.
“At the direction of President Trump, the Department of Defense is sending additional defensive weapons to Ukraine so that the Ukrainian people can defend themselves while we work to ensure lasting peace and end the killing,” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement.
