A volcano in Iceland has created a wall of fire
![]() 899 Thursday, 17 July, 2025, 13:06 The Sundnúkur volcano on the Reykjanes Peninsula in southwestern Iceland has erupted again, for the 12th time since 2021. Footage shows jets of fiery lava and clouds of smoke emerging from a 700-1,000-meter-long fissure, forming a wall of fire. The lava is coming directly from the fissure, not from the crater. Authorities have announced the evacuation of residents. |
