#WP: "Trump believes that Ukraine should go on the offensive"

US President Donald Trump told Volodymyr Zelensky that Ukraine will not achieve anything on the defensive and needs to go on the offensive. This was reported by The Washington Post (WP).
"During a phone call with Zelensky on July 4, Trump said that Ukraine could not change the course of the war on the defensive by saying that it had to go on the offensive," an unnamed Ukrainian official told the newspaper.
Trump also asked whether Ukraine could "bomb Moscow or St. Petersburg," to which Zelensky replied that this was possible "with the right weapons." This detail of the conversation was previously reported by The Financial Times.
On July 15, the White House said that US President Donald Trump did not call on Volodymyr Zelensky to launch new strikes deep into Russia, including Moscow.
