Russia is aware of Azerbaijan's position on the Ukraine issue, and Moscow and Baku have different opinions on this issue, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"At the same time, the Kremlin hopes that disagreements on this issue will not hinder the end of the freeze in relations with Baku," Peskov said.

"We hope that we will overcome the short-term freeze in bilateral relations, and mutually beneficial, mutual interests will not be sacrificed in favor of the current situation," Peskov said.

Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev publicly supported Ukraine, calling on it to "not agree to the occupation."
