The Cambodian Defense Ministry has issued a statement on this. “During fierce fighting with Thailand, our army captured the Ta Krabey and Ta Moan Thom temples, which are sovereign territories of our country, as well as the Mom Bay district,” the ministry said in a statement. The ministry also accused the Thai army of deliberately opening fire on civilian objects. There were no reports of casualties on the Cambodian side. Thailand’s Health Ministry reported 12 Thai deaths and 31 injuries. Both countries accuse each other of opening fire first and hitting military facilities in the border area. |
