Rubio: "The United States did not support France's intention to recognize the State of Palestine"
![]() 612 Friday, 25 July, 2025, 09:27 US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on the X social network that the United States does not support France's intention to recognize the state of Palestine. "The United States categorically rejects French President Emmanuel Macron's plan to recognize the state of Palestine at the UN General Assembly. This reckless decision only contributes to Hamas's propaganda and further hinders the possibility of peace," Rubio wrote. According to him, the Paris decision is a "slap in the face" to the victims of the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel by Hamas. The day before, Macron announced that France would officially recognize the state of Palestine at the UN General Assembly in September. |
