14 dead, 1,700 evacuated as wildfires rage in Turkey
![]() 1315 Monday, 28 July, 2025, 12:51 1,700 people have been evacuated due to forest fires in northwestern Turkey, 24KZ reports. The fire has covered an area of 3,000 hectares. About 2,000 firefighters are involved in extinguishing the fires. The authorities have ordered the relocation of people to safe areas, Reuters reports. It should be noted that there are 84 active fires in Turkey, which broke out due to abnormal heat. The air temperature in some areas exceeded 50 degrees. More than 300 houses have been damaged and destroyed. The provinces of Izmir and Bilecik have been declared disaster zones. Evacuation is underway in the tourist city of Antalya. Due to the rampant natural disaster, 14 people have died, 11 of them are rescuers and forestry workers. |
