The Thai army has accused Cambodia of violating the ceasefire, said deputy army spokesman Richa Suksuanon.
"After the ceasefire was declared, violations were reported from the Cambodian side in the Phu Makua area, which led to a firefight between the two sides that lasted until the morning... In addition, clashes occurred in the Sam Thet area that lasted until 5:30 a.m. (local time)," he was quoted as saying by the France Presse agency.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said on Monday that after talks in Kuala Lumpur, Thailand and Cambodia had agreed on a ceasefire that would take effect at midnight local time.
