Kallas: "Any US-Russia agreement must include Ukraine and the EU"
![]() 534 Monday, 11 August, 2025, 16:03 EU foreign policy chief Kaia Kallas has called a meeting of EU foreign ministers to discuss the next steps. She said any possible US-Russia agreement should include Ukraine and the EU. “The US has the ability to force Russia to engage in serious negotiations. Any agreement between the US and Russia should include Ukraine and the EU, because this is a security issue for Ukraine and for all of Europe,” Kallas said. “International law clearly states that all temporarily occupied territories belong to Ukraine, and a negotiated settlement should not pave the way for further aggression against Ukraine, the transatlantic alliance or Europe,” Kallas added. The EU foreign policy chief said the ministers would also discuss the situation in the Middle East and Gaza. |
