Iran expects the immediate start of Russian gas supplies via Azerbaijan. This was reported by Fars News.
According to the agency, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Jalali stated in an interview that almost all issues with Gazprom have been resolved, and if they reach an agreement on the price, the gas supply process will begin.
Earlier, the Russian Energy Minister announced that the first gas supplies to Iran through Azerbaijani infrastructure could begin in 2025, with a volume of up to 1.8 billion cubic meters per year.
Tehran and Moscow also signed a memorandum of understanding on gas transportation, and Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Iran.
