He first served as a city councilor in Łódź and was elected to the Polish Sejm in 2015 as a member of the Law and Justice party, where he built a reputation working on justice and development issues.
He went on to hold senior government roles including Secretary of State in the Ministry of Investment and Development and later the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, before being appointed Minister of Economic Development and Technology in April 2022 under Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, a position he held until late 2023.
In 2024 he was elected to the European Parliament, joining the European Conservatives and Reformists group and serving on committees focused on agriculture, rural development, and public health. Married with two children, Buda is also known for organizing an annual pilgrimage run to Częstochowa.
