The Azerbaijani government plans to reduce budget

expenditures on defense and national security to 7.969 billion manats (approx. $4.69 billion dollars) by 2030.
According to the medium-term budget materials published on the website of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Finance, in 2026 expenditures for these purposes are projected at 8.715 billion manats (approx. $5.12 billion).
Thus, between 2026 and 2029, Azerbaijani authorities will reduce defense and national security spending by 8.6 percent. In 2026, defense spending will account for 20.9 percent of all state budget expenditures, and by 2029 this share will decrease to 18.4 percent.
For 2025, Azerbaijan’s state budget projects defense and national security expenditures at 8.396 billion manats (approx. $4.94 billion).
