Robert Amsterdam։ Pashinyan seized power, destroying democracy and targeting Armenian Apostolic Holy Church

International human rights lawyer Robert addressed the pressure being placed on the Armenian Apostolic Church by the authorities of Armenia during The Camilla Tominey Show on GB News.

“The US has invested, as has the EU, in Mr. Pashinyan who started off as a populist and descending up as an autocrat, seizing power, destroying democracy and targeting the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church. I am privileged to represent Samvel Karapetyan, an individual, a philanthropist, one of the wealthiest man in Armenia, who has been behind bars for six months because of his faith. Once they took down my client, they went after the highest level of clergy in the country. Four leading archbishops are in jail. The government has demanded the resignation of the Catholicos, their holy leader.

I visited Armenia. Armenia is the cradle of Christianity. It is the oldest Christian Church. The Armenian Apostolic Church dates back nearly two thousand years. It is incredibly powerful even as a non-Christian to be there and understand the history and the fact that the Church has been, for generations, a place of unity, central to the development of the Armenian language. And yet today it is under brutal attack,” Amsterdam said.
