Zelenskyy: There is a great chance to end the war in 2026
![]() 1226 Tuesday, 30 December, 2025, 12:49 Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that there believes that there is a great chance of ending the war in 2026 due to the mobilization problems faced by the Russian side. "The number of their soldiers is decreasing, because until this year it was growing. They mobilized 43,000 people every month, signed contracts, and this year, for the first time in the entire period, the number of mobilized people and the number of irretrievable losses became exactly the same. So, this year, in 2025, we see that for the first time the size of their army has stopped increasing. So we hope that in 2026 we will be able to completely stop this war," Zelenskyy said in an interview with Fox News. He specified that if the war is not stopped, Putin will have to make a decision on mobilization, which is unpopular in society. This, in turn, threatens internal problems - which is why the Russian leadership is trying to avoid this decision, the president said. |
