Ukraine Proposes Extension of Martial Law and General Mobilization

On January 12, 2026, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, submitted to the Verkhovna Rada bills aimed at extending the period of martial law and general mobilization.
Bills No. 14366 ‘On approving the President’s Decree ‘On extending the duration of martial law in Ukraine’ and No. 14367 ‘On approving the President’s Decree ‘On extending the duration of general mobilization’ have been published on the Parliament’s website.
The documents have been referred to the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada for further consideration.
