Trump says Iran is developing missiles that can reach US
![]() 1089 Wednesday, 25 February, 2026, 09:48 President Trump said Tuesday night that Iran is developing long-range missiles that can reach U.S. territory. “They’ve already developed missiles that can threaten Europe and our bases overseas, and they’re working to build missiles that will soon reach the United States of America,” the president said during his first State of the Union address of his second term. Trump then commented on the negotiations between the United States and Iran. "They want to make a deal. But we haven't heard from them the words 'we will never have nuclear weapons.' I prefer to resolve this problem diplomatically. But I am sure of one thing: I will never allow the main sponsor of world terrorism to have nuclear weapons. I cannot allow that," Trump added.
