U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard told the House Intelligence Committee that Mojtaba Khamenei, appointed as Iran's Supreme Leader after his father's assassination, was seriously injured in an Israeli strike during the war. She noted that he is considered more extreme than his father, but given the injuries he has sustained, it is unclear whether he is actually involved in decision-making in Iran.
