ECHR obliges Azerbaijan to provide prisoners' verdicts by August 31

ECHR obliges Azerbaijan to provide prisoners' verdicts by August 31․ This is reported by the "International and Comparative Law Center" NGO.
"Azerbaijan continuously submits applications to the European Court of Human Rights, requesting the lifting of the interim measure by which Azerbaijan is obliged to periodically provide information on the conditions of detention of Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan, as well as on their health condition. Azerbaijan assures that all proceedings are conducted transparently and publicly.
On April 9, 2026, the European Court of Human Rights rejected Azerbaijan’s application, once again obliging the Government of Azerbaijan to continue providing information on the conditions of detention of the detainees, as well as their latest medical records and other documents related to medical examinations and treatment carried out. The European Court of Human Rights also obliged the submission of copies of the verdicts issued within the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated against the Armenian POWs or summaries of those verdicts, which must include the reasoning of the judges who issued the verdict, based on the evidence available in the case.
The next deadline for submitting the report is August 31, 2026".
