Allow Lyudvig Mkrtchyan to call his wife immediately։ lawyer appeals to Aliyev

Luciana Minasyan, the lawyer of Armenian prisoner of war Lyudvig Mkrtchyan, who is being held in a Baku prison, has appealed to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
"Lyudvig Mkrtchyan has not spoken to his wife in over a month.
The last time Hranush Shahbazyan heard her husband’s voice was on 19 June.
During that call, Lyudvig told her he had felt so weak that he collapsed.
They took him for heart imaging… and then nothing. No diagnosis. No explanation. And complete silence ever since.
This is a 56-year-old man who has already spent nearly six years in a Baku prison.
His latest medical results are alarming:
• Leukocytes almost double the normal level
• Widespread inflammation • Severe heart damage (left ventricular hypertrophy, diastolic dysfunction, aortic insufficiency)
His condition is deteriorating. His family is left in the dark. And still, no phone call.
A single call would not free him. It would not cure him. But it would allow a wife to hear whether her husband is still alive and conscious.
It is the absolute minimum of human dignity.
I urgently and publicly request the Azerbaijani authorities:
Mr. President Aliyev,
Allow Lyudvig Mkrtchyan to call his wife Hranush Shahbazyan immediately.
No more silence. No more uncertainty. One call. Now."
