The star of "Knock on my door" Bursin was summoned to the Turkish prosecutor's office

Turkish actor Kerem Bursin, known for his role as Serkan Bolat in the TV series "Knock on My Door," was summoned to the prosecutor's office to testify as part of an investigation into the Ahbap charity organization. This was reported by the Turkish DHA on July 29.

Along with Bursin, actresses Berna Lacin, Eda Eje, Farah Zeynep Abdullah and Irem Khelvadzhioglu are expected to testify. At the same time, Turkish sources do not report the detention of the artists or the charges against them.

After the earthquakes in Turkey in February 2023, Byursin published a video message in English in which he called on an international audience to help the victims. The actor also posted the details of Ahbap for the transfer of donations. Turkish media reported that Bursin himself had transferred 200,000 Turkish liras to the organization. His appeal was distributed by users and famous people from different countries.

The investigation is related to the alleged transfer of donations collected on behalf of Ahbap to the accounts of the defendants in the case. It is conducted under articles on the creation of a criminal organization, qualified fraud and the legalization of property obtained by criminal means. According to Anadolu, 28 people have been arrested in the case, including the founder of Ahbap, musician Haluk Levent.
