Pakistan and Qatar to send emissaries for US-Iran talks, sources say

What is different this time around is that this is happening just a day after President Trump announced that he is going to carry out a massive strike. And after that, there was a flurry of phone calls that happened.
The most important of those was the conversation he had with the Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, who essentially gave him a united front from the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries about how the unintended consequences of this war are going to be different.
If you look at the sequence of events that happened – Araghchi talking to the Pakistani army chief, talking to the Saudi foreign minister, talking to the Iraqi foreign minister and then President Trump announcing that there’s going to be dialogue that’s going to take place on Monday – we know that this is not going to be face-to-face conversation between Americans and the Iranians.
There are going to be intermediaries. We’re hearing from our sources that the Pakistani interior minister and, especially, the Qataris are going to be sending emissaries so that this can take place as soon as possible.
