European leaders arrived in Ukraine for Independence Day, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on Monday, August 24, on X.

"This morning at Kyiv’s railway station, we had the pleasure of welcoming our allies who joined us to celebrate 35 years since the restoration of Ukraine’s independence. Welcome to Kyiv, President of the European Council António Costa, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Andy Burnham, Prime Minister of Luxembourg Luc Frieden, President of Moldova Maia Sandu, and President of Estonia Alar Karis!" - Sybiha wrote.
"For Ukraine, independence is not an abstract idea. We have defended it despite all the difficulties. In times like these, countries understand how important it is to have allies by their side. And today we know exactly who our true friends are. We are deeply grateful to all our partners who stood by Ukraine, strengthened our ability to defend ourselves, and helped us preserve the freedom for which we have fought so hard. Your support is part of Ukraine’s strength," the Foreign Minister of Ukraine emphasized.
