U.S. Representative Mike Carey raised the Armenian hostages held in Baku during the House Ways and Means Committee hearing

U.S. Representative Mike Carey (R-OH) raised the Armenian hostages held in Baku during the House Ways and Means Committee hearing "Strategic Partnerships to Secure Critical Resources and Supply Chains" on September 2. Carey framed his remarks around Armenia's standing as the first nation to adopt Christianity before turning to the Armenians Azerbaijan continues to hold.
Azerbaijan holds Armenian hostages — among them the elected leadership of Artsakh — following its genocidal ethnic cleansing of the region. Ways and Means holds jurisdiction over U.S. trade policy, and Carey put Baku's conduct on the record in a hearing about critical resources and supply chains.
The ANCA thanks Rep. Carey for raising the hostages and urges Congress to press Azerbaijan for the release of every Armenian hostage held in Baku.
