A Cretaceous dinosaur egg appears among the parcels at customs at the airport
![]() 1430 Monday, 14 June, 2021, 23:40 A real Shunosaurus eggshell. At the Orio al Serio airport in Bergamo, goods of all types arrive from all over the world, in recent days a decidedly unusual package has arrived, containing a fossilized dinosaur found set in a rocky fragment. The sensational discovery, coming from Malaysia, of alleged Chinese origin, was made by Customs officials among the e-commerce parcels. Unable to trace the sender, the employees notified the Archaeological Superintendence of Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia, which qualified the find as a fossil egg of Shunosaurus, a sauropod from the lower Cretaceous, originally from China. The certificate of origin that accompanied the find was issued by a body that was found to be non-existent. The egg will therefore become part of the patrimony of the Italian State. ![]() |
