Gun battle leaves two Iranian policemen, four gunmen dead near Pakistan

Iranian police have eliminated four terrorists who attacked a police station in the city of Zahedan, the administrative center of Sistan and Balochistan province in southeastern Iran, Tasnim news agency reported, citing the region's police chief Sardar Jalilian.
“As a result of a terrorist attack by armed persons on the 16th police station, two policemen were killed, all four armed terrorists were eliminated,” the police chief said.
According to him, in the morning, four armed terrorists under the guise of visitors planned to enter the police station, but thanks to the vigilance of the soldier on duty guarding the main entrance, they failed. At the beginning of the skirmish, one of the terrorists was killed. After that, the attackers entered the watchtower of the police station and started firing indiscriminately.
“All four armed terrorists were killed on the spot by heavy fire from police officers, they were found to have 4 weapons, 7 grenades and several suicide belts,” Jalilian specified.
The Iranian province of Sistan and Balochistan is located in the southeast of the country and borders Afghanistan and Pakistan.
