The US Treasury Department expanded on Thursday its list of Russian individuals and entities sanctioned in connection with the war in Ukraine.
Eighteen individuals and a new group of entities have been added this time. Among those additions are Deputy Ministers Alexei Kudrin and Pavel Yuryevich Sorokin, as well as Sergei Borisovich Korolev, First Deputy Head of Russia's Federal Security Service. Along with the latter, other government officials and businessmen have been included.
The news comes as Canada also updates its sanctions list against Russia, adding the Mir payment system and the Tinkoff bank. The authorities also imposed restrictions against operators MegaFon, MTS, and Tele2.
