#WP: "Musk urged Trump to reconsider tariff decision"

Elon Musk has made personal appeals to Donald Trump to reverse his new wave of sweeping tariffs, The Washington Post reported․
The outlet, citing two sources familiar with the situation, noted that this is the biggest disagreement between Trump and Musk to date.
According to the sources, Musk’s attempt has not yet been crowned with success.
Business and technology leaders who support Trump’s candidacy were shocked by the president’s decision to impose such high tariffs, the newspaper notes.
Sales of Musk’s electric car company Tesla have fallen sharply in the last quarter. The company’s shares fell to $233.29 on Monday, down 42% from the beginning of the year. Musk had previously predicted that the impact of US President Donald Trump’s auto tariffs on Tesla would be significant.
Musk had previously expressed hope that Europe and the United States would be able to set zero tariffs on trade.
