Earlier, the document was submitted for ratification by the State Duma by the Russian President. “The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Russia and Iran does not envisage the creation of a military alliance between the two countries,” said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, speaking in the State Duma about Russia’s response in the event of possible aggression against Iran. “I would like to emphasize that the conclusion of the agreement does not mean the creation of a military alliance with Iran and does not envisage the provision of military assistance to each other,” the high-ranking diplomat said. The agreement was signed on January 17, 2025, during the visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Moscow. According to the document, the parties seek to deepen and expand relations in all areas of mutual interest. |
