Hamas delegation leaves for Cairo for talks
![]() 588 Sunday, 13 April, 2025, 00:27 A delegation from the Palestinian Hamas movement left for the Egyptian capital Cairo on Saturday for talks with mediators from Egypt and Qatar, the movement said. "The Hamas negotiating delegation led by Khalil al-Hayya left for the Egyptian capital Cairo today at the invitation of the brothers from the Arab Republic of Egypt. There will be a meeting and discussions with the mediating brothers from Qatar and Egypt as part of the ongoing efforts to reach an agreement to end the Zionist (Israeli) aggression against our people," Hamas said in a statement. The movement added that it welcomes any proposal that guarantees a permanent ceasefire, a full withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip and an agreement on an exchange.
