Zakharova: "Zelensky's statement on non-recognition of Crimea as Russian shows Kyiv's inability to negotiate"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement on not recognizing Crimea as Russian territory once again demonstrates Kiev’s inability to negotiate. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova at a briefing.
“This schizophrenic approach of the Kiev regime once again demonstrated its absolute inability to negotiate, irresponsibility and desire to continue this massacre until the last Ukrainian,” Zakharova said.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson recalled that on April 23, a second round of consultations was planned in London with representatives of the United States, British, French, German colleagues, as well as the Kiev delegation, on the topic of the Ukrainian crisis.
“Zelensky categorically refused to make any concessions and stated that he would not legally recognize Crimea as part of Russia. He demonstratively expressed a desire to negotiate only on a ceasefire and only on his own terms,” Zakharova said.
According to him, the head of the Kiev regime disrupted the negotiations on Ukraine in London, confirming Kiev's approach to "torpedoing" the emerging peace process.
