Russian Embassy in Iran: "Fire in Bandar Abbas brought under control"

"The fire is under control. We can say that the case is nearing completion. Let's hope that it will be so, without any unpleasant surprises," the embassy's official Telegram channel said in a message. Earlier, the embassy reported that, on the instructions of President Putin, several aircraft of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were sent to Iran to participate in the fire extinguishing work. Оn April 26, a powerful explosion thundered in the Shahid Rajai port in the city of Bandar Abbas, in the southern Iranian province of Hormozgan. The Iranian Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the incident occurred due to negligence. The number of victims, according to the latest data, has reached 70, at least 1,200 were injured. |
