#AlMasirah: "In Gaza, more than 65,000 children were hospitalized due to malnutrition"
![]() 992 Tuesday, 29 April, 2025, 15:33 More than 65,000 children in the Gaza Strip have been hospitalized due to severe malnutrition because of the ongoing Israeli blockade, Al Masirah TV reported, citing the Gaza government’s Public Relations Department. The channel reported that more than 65,000 of the 1.1 million Palestinian children and adolescents who suffer from hunger every day have been hospitalized due to acute malnutrition. Earlier, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) drew attention to the dire situation in the Gaza Strip, due to the Israeli ban on humanitarian aid that came into effect on March 2. “The famine in the enclave is spreading and deepening, it is deliberate and man-made. Gaza has become a place of despair," UNRWA Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini wrote in X. On March 2, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the suspension of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and the closure of all crossings. According to the Israeli side, this was done because the Palestinian Hamas movement did not accept the proposal of US special envoy Steve Witkoff to extend the ceasefire regime in the enclave. |
