#KyivPost: "The US will now supply weapons to Ukraine on a commercial basis"

The United States intends to sell $50 million worth of weapons to Kiev after signing an agreement with Ukraine on natural resources. This was reported by the Ukrainian newspaper Kyiv Post, citing its sources.
The supplies will be carried out in the form of direct sales. As the publication notes, this is the first authorization for the sale of weapons since Trump took office as US President.
Unlike previous assistance, the new supplies will be carried out on a commercial basis.
The publication does not specify whether the mineral transaction mechanism will be applied in this case, which allows military aid to be considered an investment by the United States in a joint investment fund with Ukraine.
The particular types of weapons to be sent to Kiev are not specified, TASS reports.
