Sybiհa: "Ukraine will not agree to the so-called peace at any cost"
![]() 592 Friday, 02 May, 2025, 14:45 Russia, like any other country, does not and will not have the right to veto our choice to join NATO. This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiha in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He emphasized that Ukraine will not accept any restrictions on Ukraine’s sovereignty, domestic and foreign policy, in particular, on the choice of unions and alliances that the country seeks to join. “Yes, we may not have a consensus on NATO membership now, but we will continue to actively work to achieve it. However, Russia, like any other country, does not and will not have the right to veto our choice,” Sibiha emphasized. According to the minister, Ukraine is ready for an unconditional ceasefire. “Russia is not ready and seeks war. Ukraine will not go for the so-called peace at any cost. The fundamental positions of our country on the conditions of peace remain clear and unchanged. First, we will not agree to recognize any temporarily occupied territory as Russian. Secondly, we will not agree to any restrictions on the number, structure and other characteristics of the Ukrainian defense forces, the defense industry, military assistance from allies, or the presence of their troops on our territory," Sibiha noted. |
