Crossfire and artillery fire on the India-Pakistan border

On the night of May 8, Pakistan launched unprovoked shelling in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian military said.
"On the night of May 7-8, Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling along the Line of Control in Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri and Akhnoor districts of Jammu and Kashmir," the Indian military said, according to ANI.
It is noted that the Indian ground forces responded to the Pakistani attack in a befitting manner.
At the same time, it is reported that a series of explosions were heard near Walton Airport in the Pakistani city of Lahore (on the border with India), police officials told Samaa TV. Geo TV also reported explosions near the Lahore airport. It is reported that an Indian reconnaissance drone was shot down near the airport.
Recall that on April 22, the conflict between India and Pakistan escalated after a terrorist group attacked tourists in the Jammu and Kashmir region. At least 27 people were killed in the terrorist attack. India blames Pakistan for the incident.
