Zelensky։ "The 30-day ceasefire proposal is in effect"
![]() 458 Thursday, 08 May, 2025, 10:15 The 30-day ceasefire proposal remains in effect, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message posted on his Telegram channel. “Ukraine’s proposal for a ceasefire of at least 30 days still stands, we are not withdrawing it, as it offers a real chance for diplomacy. But it is Russia that the world sees giving no answer” the Ukrainian president said. Recall that the ceasefire announced by Russia came into effect at midnight on May 8 and will last until midnight on May 11. Moscow had called on Kiev to adhere to it, promising to give an “effective response” if it fails. Zelensky rejected the initiative, calling it an “attempt at manipulation” and instead proposed a 30-day ceasefire, explaining this by the fact that “it is impossible to agree on anything in three, five, seven days.” |
