Overchuk: "The Russian Federation would like to expand the EAEU to include those countries from which the largest number of labor migrants come"
![]() 962 Wednesday, 28 May, 2025, 17:10 Russia considers it advisable to expand the Eurasian Economic Union at the expense of the countries that send the largest number of labor migrants, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta. “Non-discriminatory treatment of citizens of the EAEU member states creates better conditions for the integration of these people into our society... This largely explains why we would like to expand the EAEU including the countries that send the largest number of labor migrants to us,” Overchuk explained. He recalled that “the EAEU legislation allows to ease the tension associated with the movement of labor between countries: it allows citizens of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia working outside their countries to have the same rights as local residents,” Overchuk said. In addition, "the same taxes are levied on their personal income," the Russian Deputy Prime Minister explained. |
