![]() 404 Monday, 02 June, 2025, 10:04 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed the next round of talks between Russia and Ukraine, which will take place today in Istanbul, during a telephone conversation. The press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported this on its Telegram channel. “S.V. Lavrov and M. Rubio also exchanged views on various initiatives for a political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, including the resumption of direct Russian-Ukrainian talks in Istanbul on June 2,” the statement said. The department did not provide further details from their conversation. The Russian delegation has already arrived in Istanbul, Russian media reported. The delegation is headed by Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky. The Ukrainian delegation will be headed by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. The Turkish TRT television channel, citing sources in the country’s Foreign Ministry, reported that the meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Ciragan Palace.
