![]() 559 Thursday, 05 June, 2025, 11:28 The United States has vetoed a draft UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, TASS reported. The draft was prepared by ten non-permanent members of the UN Security Council. The United States was the only country in the Security Council that did not support the resolution. The document consists of four points. The resolution calls for “an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, to be observed by all parties,” as well as the release of all hostages held in the Palestinian enclave. In addition, the authors of the draft resolution demand “the immediate and unconditional lifting of all restrictions on the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, implemented by both the UN and its humanitarian partners.” |
