Zakharova recalled Pashinyan's 2018 appeals

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova referred to the authorities’ persecution of businessman Samvel Karapetyan, recalling Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s calls in 2018. NTV reported this.
According to Zakharova, 7 years ago, during the protests, Pashinyan called on the country’s authorities to surrender to the demonstrators.
“I would like to quote Nikol Pashinyan’s words spoken at a rally in Yerevan in 2018: ‘The authorities must unconditionally recognize the victory of our revolution and not show any desire to remain in power..’,” Zakharova said.
The diplomat also noted that on Wednesday, Armenian law enforcement officers charged Karapetyan with calls to seize power.
“Now we hear how in Yerevan, according to Karapetyan’s lawyer, they have begun to accuse the Russian businessman of some calls for a change of power. "I simply quoted the President of the Republic of Armenia," Zakharova added.
