"Armenia's potential membership in the EU is incompatible with membership in the EAEU" - Zakharova

Armenia’s potential membership in the EU is indeed incompatible with its membership in the EAEU.
This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova.
“It is obvious that the indisputable and real advantages that Yerevan, allegedly the Armenian people, will receive from membership in the EAEU are not comparable to the EU’s empty promises, which are not substantiated by anything, and this is a fact,” Zakharova said.
“Moreover, this is not even about the status of an EU candidate, and the accession process can last for decades.
"The big question is: is Armenia waiting for the EU, and does the EU not consider Armenia as a convenient geopolitical tool at the moment?" Zakharova noted, listing the consequences that Armenia will face in the event of joining the EU: loss of opportunities to use the EAEU market, inflation, decline in the competitiveness of domestic production, etc.
