"Sobhani regularly demonstrates pro-Armenian position" - Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry protests

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has commented on the statements of Iranian Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia Sobhani regarding Israeli drone attacks on Iran from Azerbaijani territory.

“We categorically reject the baseless and provocative statements of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia Mehdi Sobhani regarding the alleged use of Azerbaijani territory against Iran. We consider the statements of the Iranian Ambassador to be a clear provocation.

Azerbaijan categorically denies the accusations that its airspace or territory is being used by any state to carry out military operations against the neighboring Islamic Republic of Iran or any other country.

We expect that Iran will prevent such steps that do not correspond to the spirit of our relations and will take the necessary measures regarding the opinions expressed by the Ambassador, who regularly demonstrates a pro-Armenian position and does not represent his country”, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statement

Sobhani, in particular, said: "We have received information that a small number of drones have entered Iranian territory from neighboring countries, so Tehran asks the Azerbaijani side to conduct a serious investigation. Azerbaijan has assured us that it will not allow its territory to be used against Iran. But we all know the Zionist regime well: they do not follow any rules, they do not follow any laws. Therefore, they can take advantage of the situation."
