Trump: "I would like to lift sanctions on Iran!"
![]() 577 Tuesday, 08 July, 2025, 10:52 US President Donald Trump has expressed his desire to lift sanctions on Iran during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "We lifted sanctions on Syria because we want to give them a chance, and I would very much like to lift sanctions on Iran at the appropriate time to give them a chance to recover, because I would like to see Iran recover peacefully. I hope I never have to attack Iran again. It's hard to imagine that I would want to do that. And it's hard to imagine that they would want to do that. The Iranians want to have a meeting, they want to resolve the situation, and that meeting will happen very soon," Trump said. Earlier it was reported that US President's special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, announced a possible meeting with Iran next week. |
