Lavrov and Rubio met in Malaysia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio are holding a meeting in Malaysia, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
The meeting is taking place on the sidelines of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) events.
Lavrov and Rubio have previously spoken on the phone several times and met in person for the first time at Russian-American talks in Riyadh in February. At that meeting, the parties agreed to begin work on normalizing bilateral relations.
The Russian minister arrived on a two-day visit to Malaysia, where the annual meeting of the foreign ministers of the ASEAN is taking place.
The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Lavrov and Rubio discussed the Ukrainian settlement, the situation around Iran and Syria.
