"US missile stockpiles only last for a six-day potential war" - former Pentagon adviser

Former Pentagon adviser and retired US Army Colonel Douglas MacGregor claims that the US has only about eight days' worth of offensive and defensive missiles, and that the country's stockpiles are depleted.
In his post on social media X, MacGregor called on the US to stop supplying weapons to other countries.
"I have been told by very reliable sources that we have about eight days' worth of offensive and defensive missiles.... We can fight an eight-day war, and then we'll be forced to use nuclear weapons," the former Pentagon adviser wrote.
MacGregor also called for US President Donald Trump to be informed about the low level of missile stockpiles.
"I'm not sure Trump was briefed on this. He must know how small our stockpiles really are," the retired colonel wrote in another post on the X social network.
In early July, the Guardian reported, citing sources, that the US had only 25% of the Patriot interceptor missiles needed for all of the Pentagon's military plans.
