"A lawsuit will be filed against Russia in international courts in connection with AZAL" - Aliyev

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, commenting on the incident with the AZAL plane, said that Azerbaijan knows what happened, and that Russian officials were also aware of what happened. This is reported by Azerbaijani media.

“Why don’t they do what any neighbor would do in a similar situation?” Aliyev said, emphasizing that Azerbaijan demands that guilt be admitted, the guilty be punished, and the families of the victims and AZAL be compensated.

“Azerbaijan is preparing documents to file a lawsuit against Russia in international courts regarding the AZAL plane,” Aliyev noted.

Let us recall that an Azerbaijani airline plane flying from Baku to Grozny crashed near Aktau on December 25. Baku accused the Russian side of shooting down the plane.
