"The United States is ready to facilitate negotiations between Thailand and Cambodia" - Rubio

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke by phone with Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangkhampongsa, stressing that the United States stands ready to assist in negotiations between the two countries to reduce tensions in the region, the US State Department said.
According to the State Department, during separate calls, Rubio urged the Cambodian and Thai authorities to immediately de-escalate tensions and cease fire.
“The United States stands ready to facilitate future negotiations to ensure peace and stability between Thailand and Cambodia,” the State Department said in a statement on its website.
Earlier, the Malaysian news agency Bernama, citing the country's Foreign Minister Mohamad Hassan, reported that Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Thai Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Vechaichai will arrive in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on July 28 to discuss the conflict between the two countries.
Recall that the border tension between Thailand and Cambodia entered an armed phase on the morning of July 24.
