Houthis threaten to attack US ships in defense of Palestine

The Ansar Allah movement will attack ships of American trading companies if they cooperate with Israeli ports, RIA Novosti reported, citing a member of the group's political bureau, Muhammad al-Buheiti.

"In defense of the Palestinian people, we are forced to expand our actions against international companies cooperating with Israel, including American ships, with the demand to lift the blockade of the Gaza Strip and stop the mass genocide," he said.

According to the agency's source, this does not violate the ceasefire agreements with the United States, which the movement adheres to. According to al-Buheiti, previous attacks on American ships were a response to the aggression against Yemen in early 2024 and were not related to the situation in the Gaza Strip.

On Sunday, a spokesman for the Houthi military wing said the group would attack ships of any company that cooperates with Israeli ports, regardless of the ships' destination or the country to which they belong.
